Between 1935 to1945 the definition referred to a machine, rather than a indivdual person. The modern machine or device definition is based on concepts that accepts input, processes data, stores data, and produces output.
We have gone from vacuum tube to transistor, from transistor to the microchip. Then the microchip started talking to artificial intelligence. Presently we exchange message as text form, sound, photos and movies in a computerized world.
